O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you?

Bring thy son here. As the boy approached, the devil threw him down and tore him. Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit. He healed the child and delivered him again to his father.

And it came to pass, when the time came that Jesus should be received up, He stedfastly set His face toward Jerusalem.

He that is least among you all shall be great.

Lord, if you will, command that we send fire to come down from heaven and consume them as Elias did? Jesus turned and rebuked them. He said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. The Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.

Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay His head.

The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few.

After this the Lord appointed seventy others to go ahead of Him, two by two, to the places He would visit. He said to them,

Ask the master to send forth more laborers into his harvest.

Into whatever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

Now, go your way. Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes; and salute no one along the way.

If the Son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon it; if not, it shall return to you.

And into whatever city ye enter, from those who receive you, eat such things as are set before you. Heal the sick therein, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come near you.

Remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give; for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Do not go from house to house.

But, into whatever city ye enter where they do not receive you, go out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaves to us, we wipe off against you and, be ye sure of this, the kingdom of God is come near to you.

They would have, long ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
